Creditors, Associates, Companies you have had relationships with, show business tax returns.

Be willing to answer questions as to why the business was closed.

Always have someone pretend to be a potential employer to call your references before using them

No question about it – you would be an employee. A self-employed person would be able to choose where and when to work on a day to day basis so "targets" are irrelevant; bills for a fee so a "bonus" is irrelevant – and can get someone else to do the work but still bill the fee for it.

data entry for banks & financial businesses usually need data entry on the evenings or night shifts.

Market research companies doing surveys also need people on the telephones asking survey questions in the evenings.

Sounds like employed. There are 3 parameters to think about. Could you get someone to stand in for you? Could you make a loss (as well as aprofit)? Do they get the clients and the work?
